Tyrwin

I have not been very good lately about keeping up with posting on the blog. Just thought I’d shoot out yet another quick update out about how things are going.

In short, I love Rogue-ing. Lately, I’ve been leveling Tyrwin through quests and dungeons, mostly dungeons. In the last few days, Tyrwin has run Scarlet Monastery, Razorfen Downs, Zul’Farrak, Uldaman, and Maraudon, several times each and is currently que-ing up for Sunken Temple.  One would think I might get tired of running instances, but actually I had not yet done a lot of these.  Plus I really have fun with rogue melee.  In fact, I would even dare to say I prefer it to playing Pud.  Rogues are so simple and yet have tons of fun abilities.  I really like being right up there with the tank, hacking and slashing away.  I also am partial to the energy mechanic, using various methods to regain energy quickly to pump out harder hitting abilities.  Right now AoE is nearly non existent, with blade flurry being about the only option.  It does help though and is a lot of fun when pulling 3 or 4 mobs, popping an adrenaline rush, and hacking away.  This lack of AoE does move Tyrwin to the bottom of the damage meter when there are mages, locks, and the like dumping fire and ice down on the whole pack at once.  However, when there aren’t that many AoE-ers around, he is at the top of group, especially when abilities are used wisely by his operator. 🙂  I don’t want to get tooooo focused on damage output with any of my toons as there are a lot of other aspects to working on a team that are just as important, if not more so, but I do want to make sure they (my toons) are putting out all they can and that I am playing them to their full potential.  Kinda the point of dps or any role for that matter.

What happens when 3 of your 5 are druids.

Poor centaur mom

Another thing that is more comfortable with the rogue is how forgiving the class is compared to the warlock.  If I mess up with my lock, pull aggro or lose control of a pvp fight, I’m dead, fast.  With Tyrwin though If I make a mistake with these things, he’s got enough armor and escape options to regain control or get rid of aggro so messing up is not a death sentence.  Locks have their escape options too, a lot of them, but they are just sooooooo squishy.

So, I guess that’s where things are now. I like playing a rogue and can’t wait to jump into the assassination tree once I get dual talent spec.  I’m probably going to wait until the price drops to the 100 gold I’ve heard about.  For now, that’s where I am.
